Businesses depending on local clients should invest in Internet Marketing if they plan to stay competitive in their industry. Here are reasons why:

  • Over 1 BILLION local searches are performed online every month. These are people looking for products or services in their area.
  • Local online searches are growing over 50% per year
  • 80% of people first do online search before making a purchase
  • 2 out of 3 people use Google to find businesses online

You still might say that people close to your business will come to you anyway. That is true, but what about all the people who live a few blocks away. They could head to your business or go in the opposite direction. It will still take about the same time. Getting in a car and driving few minutes is worth it when you think that you are getting better product or a service someplace else. And how would your potential clients think they are getting better product or a service someplace else? By doing online research before they buy, of course.

The other thing you need to consider is that your potential clients are not that patient and don’t have much time on their hands. So they will look at the first couple or maybe 10 businesses in the search results and decide which one looks the best. And 10 is just the number of search results showing on the first page of their search. So even if you have a web site but are nowhere close to the first page of search results for your major “money” keywords, you should still invest in Internet Marketing.
